Freshly baked bread on a wooden counter dusted with flour

Florence, United States

We bake the way the grain intended.

Hand-mixed sourdoughs, curated pantry staples, and seasonal provisions — made daily at our Florence kitchen and open to everyone who values what food should be.

Rooted in place,
shaped by season.

Reception Grow began as a small kitchen experiment — a commitment to bread that tastes like bread, made from flour milled close to home and fermented slowly enough to matter.

Today we are a bakery and grocery on Kamehameha Highway in Florence, serving neighbors who care about where their food comes from and how it was made. Every loaf, every jar, every seasonal selection is chosen or produced with the same standard: would we be proud to serve this to our own table?

We work with local millers, regional dairy producers, and foragers who understand the land. Our pantry rotates with the calendar because that is how real food works.

Artisan Bread

Every morning we pull loaves from the deck oven — country sourdough, olive-and-thyme focaccia, seeded rye, and seasonal variations that change with the harvest.

Curated Pantry

Specialty oils, small-batch vinegars, heritage grains, dried legumes, and preserves from producers we know by name. Everything we stock earns its place on the shelf.

Dairy & Provisions

Local cheeses, cultured butters, farm eggs, and seasonal preserves. We partner with nearby farms to bring the region's best to our counter every week.

Pastries & Viennoiserie

Butter croissants, pain au chocolat, seasonal fruit tarts, and sweet breads — all made from scratch. The morning queue is our favorite compliment.

Morning only

Slow is not a strategy.
It is a standard.

01

Time over convenience

Our sourdough ferments for 36 hours. We do not rush it. Flavor develops at the speed of biology, and we respect that process.

02

Seasonality is non-negotiable

Our menu changes because the land changes. When fig season ends, we do not force it. We wait for what comes next.

03

Know your producers

We visit every farm and mill we work with. If we cannot tell you where your flour was grown, we do not bake with it.

04

Zero waste, maximum care

Day-old bread becomes croutons and breadcrumbs. Compost returns to the soil. Nothing we make is disposable — least of all our relationship with the land.
